Christmas Ball

On 22nd December, we had a Christmas ball. This ball was meant for students from form 9 to form 12. It was a lovely event and all students were dressed festively – the boys were wearing suits and the girls were wearing beautiful dresses. In the beginning, every class had to do something to get their little candy packets, which the school had provided for every student. Every form had different tasks to perform. The ninth formers had to read poems, the tenth form had to sing songs, the eleventh had to dance and the twelfth form had to perform a little play. The performances were very diverse and it was very enjoyable. After the performances every class went to their home class and the form master gave them their Christmas packets. When it was done, we went back to the school hall. Our school headmaster had hired a band, which played all night long. This band sang very typical Estonians songs. It was very lovely to watch boys asking girls for a dance. When the band wanted to take a break, some girls performed us their well- prepared dances. I think the ball was most enjoyed by the twelfth form, because this was their last ball in our school. In conclusion, I would like to say that this event was very good for all of us and we are really looking forward to next year’s Christmas ball.

Dictionary

Dear Top Scent Students and teachers,

A very Happy New Year to all of you and our project!

We have had quite long holidays and maybe some of you feel like doing something for the project - so I have something interesting for you.

Hatice, the Turkish teacher, has sent a draft of the dictionary we are going to compile for the project. They have written the Turkish and English part and now each country has to fill in their part of the dictionary. As the number of the words is rather impressive, I have divided it between all the students in the project and every one of you gets 60 - 61 words to translate into Estonian. Here is the link to the dictionary.

You can edit it right there. Be sure you save it!
